Eh… Did you think the US starting a war in the Middle East was a “once in a lifetime” event?

Or did something happen today that I still didn’t hear about?

      The day is still young.

They tend to start a war about every 10 years. Seems like the sort of thing that shouldn’t be commonplace, but then Oceania had always been at war with Eastasia.

Out of it’s 200something year existence the USA has spent a grand total of 16 years not at war.

USA is a scourge on the world. Us westerners only tolerate it because the guns weren’t pointed at us.

That’s what gets me about posts/complaints like this. Relatively common occurrence now becoming once in a lifetime event. This is just a pure marketing to dupe people into thinking these are rare occurrences. And so many people under the age of 40 are treating it like Misery Olympics.

Fun fact: for every day of all human history there has been a “once in a lifetime event”.

The only difference is we have media now that lets you see every event from every corner of the globe, all at once all the time.

Yes but it also affects you cause of our interconnected global economy.

So today we are constantly being affected by random events instead of having things be boring
