Can you explain how it’s anymore unique than other poor country besides the large population? China has shown that a billion people is something manageable with the right ideology in place.
i think the extreme individualism is partly the consequence of neoliberalism.
I genuinely think the only way the people of India can thrive or at least do better is if the country is partitioned into the states.
I kinda agree, it would allow states with larger communist movements to not be limited by the Indian Government. However, one of the things that makes India really resilient is its size, population and resources.
India’s smaller neighbors aren’t doing very well, in many ways much worse than India, Sri Lanka & Pakistan are under crippling external debt, Myanmar is in a civil war and Bangladesh just had a coup.

Nah, I don’t think so. It’s certainly not made it any better but India has always been a collection of different ethnicities and culturesand the lack of communal welfare has plagued it for centuries.
There is a lot wrong with capitalist India, but to say that it has failed “in a way no other poor nation has” seems a bit hyperbolic. This is the country that is currently electrifying almost all of its rail lines and is doing so at a very fast rate. Modi is a fascist freak and the BJP sucks but there’s no reason to believe that India is uniquely failed. India struggles with poverty, capitalism, and reactionary ideology just like many other countries in the Global South.
It’s a beyond terrible look yes. I’m wayyy too tired and busy with work to type out paragraphs and have multiple back and forths about the sociology explaining why I think so though
I guess I’m very critical and cynical about anything related to India and Indians and I do wonder if my perspective is skewed or a truly objective oen, so I have to make that dosclaomer
As I mentioned, the whole “industrialization” discourse comes straight from the mouths of communists and Marxists economists even. Go read Hudson and him rambling about “financialization” as if that is the great evil of out time.
If they’ll realize this entirely depends if they continue to eat up this nonsense that the main evil is financial market people and not capitalists as a whole.
Just ban the fucker wtf. They’ll just quote some shit an Indian Marxist/org put out and extrapolate that opinion to all of our collective Indian comrades

And as I also mentioned there is a tendency to fetishizse Chinese policies and their condition as the worlds industrial leader as if that is replicable everywhere else. China dominates based a lot on the mistakes from capitalists 30 years ago(they called it globalization then) when they moved their factories to China.
But nobody got 30 years left and a favorable global trade status quo like China got to benefit from.

India takes two steps forward while it’s not even standing on a flat surface.
What about sanitation, food, energy? It’s really good news it’s electrifying its railroads.

What do you mean? That it’s a bad look to perpetuate negative ideas about my own ethnicities to an audience of mostly white people?

If they understand dialectical materialism they’ll understand this
It’s not like you’re a fucking genius who has made a really difficult revelation or something lmao

Hudson is a single guy that doesn’t organize
What does he have to do with the Indian movements
Why do you think it is extremely doubtful?
