As the Star Tribune noted, “[h]omicide is defined as a death that occurs at the hands of another person” — as opposed to death by natural causes or suicide, for example — “and does not necessarily mean the person died from a criminal act.”

I don’t think this was ever in question, even by the most rabid fascists who celebrated it.

This is an important first step on the way to charging the agents, and bringing their actions to a court of law, for prosecution. Due Process was not afforded Alex Pretti, despite him having that right. And Due Process should be used in the case of these two agents, so that there can be no question when they are found guilty, and are punished for their crimes.

With George Floyd you had many people saying he overdosed, completely unrelated to Derek Chauvin’s actions

Obviously it wasn’t true, but this is another thing we can point to when people like that try to deflect

It wasn’t. This the medical examiner is going to tick one of three boxes. Homicide, Suicide, or Natural Causes.

Even a justified killing in self defense, which this wasn’t, would be “Homicide” for the medical examiner.

Any self defense killing is also a homicide. Not sure determines it’s a murder, or if we just have to wait for charges to be filed.

A coroner obviously cannot determine if something was a murder; that is up to a court.

So, turns out I’m a medical examiner, and so are the phone cameras that filmed it all…

I know they have to do these things but since I saw that man die from shots fired by those pathetic thugs its not at all surprising. I really figured they were going to say he died of a undiagnosed heart condition or something.

Because obviously, when you are shot 10 times in the back there is such a high probability that its an accident.

Homicide just means one person caused another to die, accidental or otherwise.

This is basically just news that they completed the autopsy, that’s all

Are they sure it wasn’t COVID?

Because it wasn’t that long ago, Minneapolis, that it was “COVID”.

Now isn’t the time for jokes, Jason. America has fallen to fascism and there is no clear way out of it.

Since Franco, fascism falls when the people revolt/civil war or defeated by a foreign power. For America, no other country is strong enough so civil war is more likely.

            Or fascism becomes permanent.

Fascism is never permanent. It will always collapse on itself; it’s just a matter of when and what damage they can cause before it happens.

it will be difficult to put satire or cynicism in some comments …
I’m not aware of specifics of that (not in USA) But i do believe you … in that country, nowadays, police will say whatever.
