These arguments always rest on the implicit assumption that there is a settler class that counts as actual people and a racialized class that doesn’t.
Exactly this. If your friend lives in the US, you can ask if they’d give up their home to the native ancestors from the area. I imagine they quickly get real squishy on who has historical rights to land.
