It’s a death adder elite that was given to me when I first built my computer, unfortunately it’s got some kind of damage and doesn’t glide now. Looking to see what everyone here recommends. I have a claw grip for however much that matters 🤷 I don’t play too much fps slop now but still enjoy it a bit.

  • You could replace/add glides - see if they have some for your model of mouse. There’s the sticker kind that are universal, or specific models seem to be like a whole bottom replacement. EDIT: yeah a full-bottom replacement is what you’d want based on other comments.

I found these ones on Amazon (uk) for a different deathadder model, as an example: https://amzn.eu/d/08wZUbJw

If you’re set on ditching it, I’ve enjoyed my Logitech G305, which is a similar vibe to the deathadder. Not too expensive for a 2.4Ghz wireless mouse, and a single rechargeable AA battery lasts weeks before dying.

Logitech mice give you exactly what you pay for, so you can’t go wrong if you get one of their more expensive options. Steel series makes good peripherals, I had one of their mice for several years until the plastic broke. I’m left handed so I bought a special mouse from amazon to use sinister style.

I got basically one step up from the cheapest logitech mouse, g203 gaming mouse with two side buttons and a four level DPI button. Not bad for the price, I’m not the heaviest gamer but I mostly snipe on FPS’s and it does the trick. It’s 35 on the logitech website (https://www.logitechg.com/en-us/shop/p/g203-lightsync-rgb-gaming-mouse.910-005790), OP you sound like you maybe want a more serious long term mouse if your last one lasted a decade, this is more a recommendation for cheapos. I’ve had it about two years and it’s still holding up well though. It’s funny to me it has a light on the back, where your palm covers it, one of the more unnecessary g*mer lights I’ve seen.

I have one of the logitechs and it’s fine enough. I upgraded to the rechargeable one a couple years ago but aside from the weight I think it’s worse than the one that ran on AAs (why put the DPI switch on the bottom??)

Several months ago, my Logitech MX Anywhere 2’s right click stopped reliably registering being held down. I spent a long time troubleshooting it thinking it was a proton issue because I only noticed it in games but finally realized it was the mouse hardware.

I replaced it with a Keychron M6 and have been very happy with it.

Another, cheaper option is that you might very well be able to buy a new set of glide pads for your existing mouse.

When my office mouse lost its glide-pad for some reason, I just put some kind of sellotape there instead.
Must have been 5 or so years ago now, still working.
But maybe not first choice for playing FPS games.

a few years back i got spoiled for my birthday with a wireless mouse + charging mousepad combo. its a logitech g pro with matching pad, so the whole kit n kaboodle was $200-$300. the plastic is too smooth so i had to add foam grip tape to the sides. it has served well for the better part of a decade. all my other logitech peripherals were pieces of shit (keyboard, headset), but the mouse + pad has been good.

Have you ever tried/considered a trackball mouse? It takes a while to get used to but I prefer them. I have a wired Elecom EX-G that I love, but it doesn’t look like new ones come with the wire attached anymore, which is what I was going for when I bought it.

If you want to drop too much money on a great mouse, Naga Pro is my recommendation. Been using it for four or five years without any issues whatsoever. It even withstood the heavy use of my pro gamer days. It comes with three side grips, of which they are the 2-button, 6-button, and the MMO 12-button that are interchangeable. Don’t know what they run for now, but I think I got mine for like $130. As noted, very much a luxury item, but this is the one very good peripheral I have owned from Razer. Only mouse that has made it past three years for me in the last two decades.

That’s what I used it for actually. It takes a while to get used to, but you eventually gain muscle memory on where your abilities are. Couldn’t recommend it more for MMO gaming.

im the kind of person that would just buy the same model of mouse if possible. i was using an intellimouse 2.0 for forever, then MS released a new one(now discontinued) but it has a rubber coating that wears away from my thumb.
