Me explaining socialism to an American: “So imagine a burger…. if the economy was a burger you’d get just one pickle but the ruling class already have almost the whole burger, and fries, and soda. But slowly but surely, the ruling class is seeing your pickle slice and he really wants that pickle slice. He will leverage the fact he owns the restaurant to rewrite the rules so he has more of a claim to that pickle slice. Socialists are against this and think you should have your own burger.”
This is the way.
“Imagine making a burger” is unironically the single easiest way to explain what means of production are.
Also labor theory of value (why is a burger more expensive than fries)
(Talking about the rise of a distinct financial and merchant class within late medieval cities) Imagine a burgher…
shut up XD
Imagining a user of this website who gets excited to learn about communism every time they see an ‘imagine a burger’ meme, but gets disappointed to find out it isn’t a serious explanation.
Ah, gotcha.
It’s the new linen coat
