He’s been stepping up with his community to promote progressive challengers to the democratic establishment for the past 7-8 years, really making headway in the last 2-4. He’s also Rupert Murdoch’s current obsession, so every right leaning network in the English speaking world is obsessed with him right now.
He’s a commentator and he’s on the left. He has said nice things about China and calls himself a Marxist. He also has a scary foreign name, so he’s basically the perfect bogeyman to tie the entire left to.
