  • That could be me if they'd just rig the lottery like I've been asking

  • Great explanation, thank you. I "felt" the forces and get how it'd cause problems.

If money grew on trees I'd totally get sidecar bike. I'm sure my dog would love it

  • Not that it matters but I thought it was his abnormally large heart or lungs that made him a monster athlete?

  • I've taken a few dirt bikes for a spin but never a motorcycle. Can you describe what makes the handling strange?

  • I think you're taking what I said too negatively toward the developers themselves I put the virtue signalling line in there to hopefully make that clear I wasn't accusing them of anything. I was more commenting on what kind of news gets picked up by content farms.

I've learned about sooo many opensource projects because the devs made some anti-AI comment that got reported here

  • Ehhh yeah I guess not those words exactly but it's the left that speaks up after every mass shooting, calling for gun control.

  • Serious question: does any religion outright deny the possibility of life existing on other planets?

The priest in the afterschool church program I had to take in middle school told me, "if aliens exist, Jesus loves them, too" when I asked

  • Every comment on lemmy will eventually be used to train an LLM so if we really want a clear conscience, we should all stop putting anything on the internet

  • Attention is currency. I'm learning about the existence of a lot of projects simply because they made anti-AI announcements

Again, I'm not assuming the worst of these devs or any other. I'm just saying you're more likely to hear about it because everyone knows saying "AI good" will only garner hate for your project and "AI bad" will get you an article or 3

  • It's more frequent because making a "NO AI" announcement is cheap publicity.

I won't go as far as to say it's virtue signalling but...devs aren't dumb, they know these game news content farms are going to pick up the story

  • The voter has blue hair, the politician wears the suit

  • He's what the right thinks of when they think of a democrat. Very corporate

  • Well no, they're ashamed of the pedo and proud he got arrested

  • I THINK it's this one. I could only skim through it now but I thought I remembered more technical discussion than I saw

  • Guess what. Both are examples of people getting violent because of a character in media they chose to consume. Which makes your whole comment pointless

You wrote that like it was some kind of gotcha but it really just makes you seem like the type of person who yells at their TV

  • Would you call someone stupid for throwing their remote at the TV because they got mad at something an actor said? I would.

And I'd say that's nowhere near as stupid as attacking a real human being for the same.

They're stupid. The only people you could possibly argue aren't are the ones who just booed.

  • If you liked this, check out his other videos. He does a lot of cool stuff like this, though it's usually not as dark.

He's got one where he edits a bird song so the spectrogram looks like a bird. He then plays it back to a bird, the bird mimics the sound, and the bird image is visible on the new recording.

  • That's a bit too hyperbolic. I live in a Chicago suburbs and I'd have to travel 2 more hours to find a gun but city. They're not as common as the media would have you believe.

Of the states I listed, Wisconsin is worst in that regard. Parts of Michigan are the same but the gun culture there is more about hunting (for food, not purely for entertainment)

  • It's honestly one of the best things about the country. I'm a train ride away from practically every cuisine imaginable.

The most vibrant parts of any city are the "ethnic" parts. Every "PURE AMERICAN" neighborhood is just cookie cutter buildings and franchised stores/restaurants
