I originally planned to go to PRC, but my tourist visa application got refused (finally I can say China Bad for personal reasons! /s), so I changed my route to Serbia. At least I didn’t have to apply for a visa, and the flying will be shorter, I guess.
I’m going for a hiking trip in Jagodina with a volunteering group, and we’ll mostly clear out the path while camping. I’ve got some experience in camping, so I have no concern in that part.
Afaik the group consists of one Slovenian, three Serbian, two French, two Spanish, one RoC Chinese, and one Turk (me). I’ll try to not reveal my power level head-on since there’s one Taiwanese, but I guess I won’t face any discrimination even though I heard European education shows us like orcs of LotR.
I’m open to any suggestions on what to do there, comrades.

It’s unfortunate that China’s relations with Türkiye have degraded so much that they affect visas, but this has a lot to do with Türkiye playing a big role as a proponent of the Uyghur genocide conspiracy.
They told me they only accept group visas with a minimum of five individuals in tourist visas.
As for the whole Uighur schtick, the Turanist brainworms found and ruled the country, and teaching that every non-Turkic and Islamic country is an enemy in schools doesn’t help either. I can go on a rant about why this is the state ideology, but it’s better to cut it short for this comment.
I’m volunteering at an animal rescue in small serbian town right now. You can come say hi!
I’ll keep that in mind during free time. We’ll be close to Ribare.
What to do there?
Camp, enjoy yourself. If you commune with nature, do so. If you play guitar and eat granola, do so. If you just like to sit quietly and reflect, do so.
You don’t need to pack your visit with Mao Thoughts 24/7. Enjoy being with a group of strangers attempting to make a small part of our planet nicer for others to find enjoyment in. Enjoy some new customs maybe, some new foods from other places maybe. Look at some bugs. Look at some plants. Look at some birds.
ETA - looking at photos of the area you mentioned you would be near, that looks beautiful. It’s so different from what I have around me.
Of course I won’t behave like a debatelord around bunch of strangers. I actually go nonverbal in nature. But I have to be extra careful with my word choices when the conversation leads to the “serious” topics.
Again, I won’t pester people with those topics in a camp where we’ll mostly dilly dally, I actually rarely talk about ML 101 irl.
As for guitar playing and singing, I don’t think most people will appreciate shredding and brutal vocals.
