religion in the west is at most subordinate to imperialist ideology
i don’t agree, the end-times christians definitely want some stuff that’s detrimental to the empire and they seem to be getting their way. look at pete hegseth and his crusader shit that echoes the previous wars.
reddit atheism in practice just means bill maher pro-imperialist muslim hatred
idk there was always a faction who understood the greatest religious threat to people in the west was dominionism and didn’t lose their minds like sam harris did. i don’t recommend the group after their big transphobia schism a few years ago but if you want to listen to a decade of a public access call-in show the atheist community of austin would regularly correct people who were trying to be primarily mad about muslims.

i said subordinate, not completely powerless. they definitely do some stuff that other factions would rather they didn’t. but they aren’t gonna blow it up like walter white, and they aren’t powerful enough to do these things alone. there are material justifications for this iran stuff &c beyond just bringing about the rapture.
the atheist community of austin
but public-access tv atheism is much more niche than reddit/eglin air force base atheism. i could bring up liberation theology as a counterpoint to this, because at the very least, liberation theology has had more impact on the world than the various atheist “movements” in the us. which is to say, not a ton.
