On June 8, Ukrainian drones struck the Protasovo airfield in the Ryazan region. In the video analyzed by ASTRA, it can be seen that a drone falls on the airfield. There is no information about casualties or damage.
The airfield is home to the Ryazan Scientific and Production Center “Protos” - a platform for the development and production of drones. According to Russian TV channels, in March 2026, companies producing components and software for UAVs, including engines and special coatings for drones, were operating there. It was planned to reach a production of 5,000 units per month by 2027.
In addition to production, the site also provides drone pilot training - including for schoolchildren.
