just gonna put that there at the top of the list of the reasons I say shit like “I hate needless dumb fucking bureaucracy” and if we ever, god fucking willing, please, jesus fucking christ, get to see the day we get to see Cultural Revolution style public accusations, trials and punishments for the bourgeoisie, I am absolutely going to put whoever made this happen at the top of the list
how fucking hard would it have been to have an exemption for employees with seasonal disruptions? oh wait the point is to make people not get UI payments. face the wall
I’m so sorry you’re subject to The Most Efficient Way To Do Things. I don’t like how it is but There Is No Other Way We Can Do Things. If only Someone Could Figure Something Else Out.
A hidden blessing of ghost jobs is that applying for them counts just as much as real jobs when it comes to unemployment
I had to do this too. Luckily in my area all I had to do was pinky promise I applied to like 3 different places and then every now and then they’d ask to see proof of filled out applications.
If I were you I’d have fun with it. Submit absolutely insane AI generated resumes to shitty companies. Apply to microsoft and be like “I have extensive experience making things worse. I’d be a perfect fit at the company.”
I think you can get sanctioned (less money) if it’s too obvious. And the applications might have to go to companies from a list too. Depends on the country I guess.
Reminds me of Trainspotting
I’m complaining a huge amount like it’s a big deal but I’m just going to apply to be president of the united states 3x a week and get my 180 bucks, eat shit government
idk if you got the qualifications how many times do you appear in the files
I was on Unemployment during Covid. Just identify 7-10 potential employers in your field, and write down three on your weekly report, and cycle through them. I personally knew all of my “potential employers,” and not one of them received a call to check. It’s a five minute inconvenience every week, to get the money.
Don’t defend this shit
Can you send an application to your current employer, they give you a contract starting at the expected date or would that make too much sense.
The UI requirements got a lot more annoying when porky freaked out because some people were having an okay time on unemployment for the few months that we sort of almost took Covid seriously
I once was collecting already for about a month. I applied for a bunch of jobs, interviewed and got one. I asked them to start a week later so I could collect one more full UE check.
One of the requirements of collecting was to attend a job fair after one month of collecting. I had already found a job by that point, so I didn’t go. I got a letter a few weeks later that said I had to pay the last check back because I didn’t attend. I challenged it and said I didn’t go because I already found a job and had recently started working.
They denied my challenge. I think I still owe that money. This was over a decade ago IIRC.
