1 teaspoon vinegar based hot sauce (franks or a store-brand equivalent or your favorite)
and set aside, giving time for the spices to infuse with the oil a little bit
Preheat air fryer to 350 and dry roast a can’s worth of drained and rinsed chickpeas for like 15 - 20 minutes, shaking the basket at least once during the process.
Once this is done add:
2 teaspoons nutritional yeast (optional, tastes nice and helps the seasoning adhere to the chickpeas)
to the seasoning bowl, whisk it vigorously before adding the chickpeas. Nutritional yeast can make things really pasty really quickly so only do this just before its time to toss.
After tossing the chickpeas put them back in the air fryer at 350 for another 8-10 minutes. Allow to cool before eating.
This recipe can be done on a baking sheet in an oven, I havent worked it out quite yet but I think adding about 25% to the cook times would work.
I’ll give it a burl and let you know! I’ve been using baking paper in my fryer to make cleanup easier but the downside is that it doesn’t get as good an airflow around what you’re cooking, so I’m guessing I’ll need to remove them around the halfway mark to give em a shake

So, since theres no oil or anything on them straight out the can, you only need the baking paper for the second stage, after theyve been seasoned.
