An in-depth analysis of the 2024 presidential campaign commissioned by the Democratic National Committee fails to mention the party’s position on Israel’s genocide in Gaza, prompting harsh criticism from Arab American members of the party.
The 192-page report, authored by a Democratic strategist and first published by CNN on Thursday morning, goes in-depth on several factors found to be detrimental to Vice President Kamala Harris’s campaign in its ultimate loss to Donald Trump. Despite the contention within the party over then-President Joe Biden’s support for Israel’s genocidal campaign against Palestinians in Gaza, however, the war doesn’t get a single mention.
Also missing from the document are the words “Israel,” “Palestine,” “Arab American,” and “Muslim.”
“Nothing about this surprises me,” said Linda Sarsour, an organizer from Brooklyn who was active in organizing a campaign to pressure Harris to take a stance against the war. “If they don’t change course quickly to center Palestine, foreign policy and recognize the influence of Arab/Palestinian/Muslim/young/progressive American voters, they will likely have to write another autopsy report post 2028 presidential elections.”

Not sure if ironic or one of the dumbest comments I’ve read on this community
well lets think charitably here. Hasbara funding quadrupled recently. You cant really assume anyone supporting Israeli genocide is anything more than a bot or a paid marketing intern doing their sad job.
Or maybe you just exist in a bubble and can’t see out of it.
Between the Dems and the republicans, the Dems would have handled Israel and Gaza better than the republicans would have.
Furthermore, look at the “Most important issue” from the exit polling below. Note that foreign policy was 4%. People weren’t voting for Israel and Gaza.

Oh, yes, just look at how well the Biden administration handled it.
Bad is still better
Youre really out here glazing genocide Joe.
🫠
Calling him bad is somehow glazing. Ok bubble boy.
no. it was a great propaganda campaign by maga to paint kamala as a war hawk and claim that only maga would stop these wars. many leftists were swayed against kamala bc of the perception that she would also be a puppet of israel. the crazy thing is how well it works to paint Dems badly while republicans can just openly do exactly what they feared dems would do….israel had a LOT to do with the left staying home, dude.
True, exit polling doesn’t really capture people who stayed at home. But if you look at the poll below, it looks like the people that stayed at home were a little more in favor of Trump anyway.

I’d love to hear if there’s any real numbers that support this, or if it just feels right to you. I think most people cared about Gaza, but not more than gas prices.
Also, keep in mind that I don’t feel this way, I’m just saying this is the reality of US politics.
Ok. You got nothing. Later gater
4% is nothing
In terms of winning and losing, yeah it’s nothing. And Israel/Gaza is a subset of foreign policy.
And if you look at the Israel/Gaza specific question, 60% of people responding think our support of Israel is either just right or not enough.
If true, would this not indicate that american elections are meaningless and america has to be destroyed? Why care about the lesser of two evils in a pro-genocide country?
Who’s gonna do it?
Trump’s been doing a bang-up job on it so far
