This honestly goes both ways (between the US and Israel I mean). Sometimes Israel does some negotiating then Trump ties them to some absurd demands.
i won’t doompost because this deal will probably be violated as soon as it is reached, if israel and US don’t start bombing before that, but no reparations and no toll (no chance with oman involved) with no sanction removal (there’s absolutely no way the “agree on nuclear issue” will happen at all) while the economy is getting turbofucked setting the stage for probably another round of israeli riots in the fall, there’s really not a lot to be optimistic about.
Honestly how do you negotiate with people who don’t believe in negotiations; if America and Israel wouldn’t negotiate when they’re in a position of strength, then they’re just trying to con you when they do it from a position of weakness/equality. that is part of the issue. not only they don’t want to negotiate, they don’t understand negotiating. they are removeds, if you are strong they push you if you are weak they push harder. anything besides this was not a realistic option. the first time hormuz was declared open IRGC immediately closed it because trump tweeted thanks but the blockade will stay, so hopefully if any violations happen they will use their leverage again.

idk but it wouldn’t surprise me if Trump got bored and frustrated with Iran so the next big thing is Cuba
This and he might not have sundowned in this cycle yet, I’ve dealt with sundowning and when it happens they are full of energy and enraged and think everyone is out to kill them. It wouldn’t surprise me if suddenly he kills the deal and attacks because he’s in the middle of an episode soon.
I’m surprised we’re not back to bombing already honestly. I don’t see how the US can save face if Iran gets nuclear and I don’t see any reason why Iran wouldn’t immediately pursue nuclear as aggressively as possible after all this shit.
If I had to guess I’d say the military are shockingly low on munitions, or even important munitions, or even that Iran’s attacks on vital surveillance systems in the Middle East was too great to go back to attacking Iran again; also possible governments in the Middle East probably secretly threatened to break ties with America all of them together and pivot to China if they made the situation bad again. America can’t go to war with Iran AND attack Middle Eastern (former) allies without 1. looking extremely bad and irrational, and 2. just not a fight the government can win without consequences (for one thing the Middle East could probably just cut all fuel sales worldwide)
