Even that feels kinda optimistic to me.

“Goddamn antifa bucket brigades stealing all our water to try and trick us into thinking climate change is real! You know what’d really show them, putting in another golf course!”

At this point I expect that once we reach the point of water wars, acknowledging that climate change brought us there will be considered a capital offense tantamount to treason.

I understand that Corpus Christi is running out of water due to poor planning; which really means political corruption powered by bribes and kickbacks.

There are no consequences, locally, for getting aboard the crime train while in political office. In fact, anyone who actually has ethics, and runs for office, can’t win.

And everyone and their mother still sees them as infallible.

Take high-speed rail in California. A great idea and would have been amazing, but the local good ol’ boys can’t have that happen, so here comes corruption to the rescue! Because private interests corrupt good ideas, it’s used as proof those corrupting forces should just rule us directly and we shouldn’t make any effort to disempower them.
