I’m right now a good amount in the game (just completed PL) and plan to try out all character quests, sidequests and gigs before finishing the game to really get the most of it but am worried about burnout since I’ve hit max level and got all the perk shards (I think). Any good stuff for content or QoL, like say more diverse encounters and radiant job types?
I have a couple gameplay mods but nothing that adds missions or does infinite gigs/radio quests. I’m an immersion person so I put most of my effort into that.
Immersion mods:
- Immersive First Person
- Smooth Movement
- Inside the NCART Station
- Inside the Metro
- Night City Alive
- Immersive Rippers
- Immersive Bartenders
- Immersive Food Vendors
- Idle Anywhere
- Limited HUD
Visual mods:
- Improved Vegetation
- Improved Environment
- Blur Begone
- Enable Advert Animations
- Preem Weather
- Preem Map
- Dog Town Visuals Nulled
- Night City Visuals Nulled
- Ragdoll Physics Overhaul
- LUT Switcher 2 (get the preem and nova sets for it)
QoL:
- Map Nuclear Explosion
- All Vanilla Clothes Atelier Store
Gameplay:
- They Will Remember (adds reputation system for gangs/factions, ties your clothing choices to gang affiliations, makes face coverings functional)
- Lifepath Bonuses and Gang-Corp Traits (makes damage types specific to gangs/factions, adds bonuses/weaknesses based on lifepaths and gangs/factions)
A lot of these mods have dependencies but I didn’t list them. Just pay attention to what each requires. There is an immersion mod called Dark Future that I don’t use, it adds survival mechanics. You get hungry, sleepy, dehydrated, or addicted to substances. Those conditions will affect your stats. I don’t use it because it sounds tedious.
I actually started the Dark Future mod just recently, and I’d think you’d be pleasantly surprised if you want “immersion” (YMMV). I love how I now have an excuse to just sit around, take a swig of tequila to regain some Nerve with the immersive bartenders mod, and take in the sights and sounds (the occasional bit of immersion-breaking repeated dialogue notwithstanding). It’s completely customizable so you can omit parts and bits, like I did by re-enabling fast travel and toning down the Humanity feature.
In any case, thanks I’ll check your suggestions.
Played about half the game recently with most of those and Dark Future, good list. Dark Future isn’t as tedious as it might sound, honestly. I’m usually not a fan of survival mechanics unless they add something to the game, and in the case of Dark Future I feel like it does, at least early game. You’ll be struggling for money if you don’t do gigs because combat reduces your nerve, which you regain by sleeping and taking on vices. That means less money for weapons, armor, ammo, cybernetics, and vehicles. It adds up if all you’re consuming is good quality food (which doesn’t decrease your nerve). It got to a point where my V was addicted to nicotine, alcohol, and black lace at one point. Really gives you a motivation to be efficient in combat.
The good thing is at any point you can go to a chemist and buy addiquit (I think that was the name). It’ll dump your energy but you’ll rid yourself of addictions.
Once you’re halfway through the game and your big expenditures are out of the way (apartments around the city for good coverage in case you need to sleep, different vehicles for fun, getting your chrome progression going) the mod won’t have as much of an effect on your finances. I only kept the nicotine and alcohol addictions because it makes sense storywise.
I also had a mod that overhauled stealth and another that reduced sponginess, but I can’t recall those names.
Giga booba, thicc dumpy, and magnum dong mods.
Thought these were implicit when you install the game.
Cyberpunk has one of the biggest character customization/photo mode modding scenes. There’s an incredible amount of clothing and appearance mods on Nexus. I enjoyed changing my character’s appearance along with the story. I have a bunch of mods that remove distracting overlays, like the sneaking vignette, and improves the camera while driving too.
Welcome to Night City is a good starting point as a mod pack. Tons of bug fixes, overhauls driving for the better, adds a ton of “immersive” mods like being able to order drinks at bars and actually drink them there with animations, and covers a lot of the basic Quality of Life mods you’d expect.
On top of that:
- There’s a series of mods that add more “faction” themed unique weapons, and they tend to be added to new little scenes when yoh find them to add extra flavor.
- There’s a mod that completely overhauls the stealth mechanics and adds a brand new upgrade tree around it.
- There’s a mod that adds “chipware”, a concept from the tabletop game that was cut, and one shown in the Edgerunners anime, where you can slot chips into your neck to temporarily unlock perks later on the tech tree. There are ways to unlock them permanently, and custom perks too. It adds a lot more depth to builds.
That’s all I have off the top of my head, not at my PC.
There are some big name combat overhaul mods that I’ve been interested in, but when I last checked like half a year ago, they hadn’t seemed to be in a remotely “stable” state.
All Vehicles Can Steer
I used to pray for times like this.
Guess I have most bases covered here though I am hoping to find also mods which add more enemy encounters (Cyberpsychos, gang hit squads, independent Afterlife mercs, etc). Just to make NC a more dangerous place, especially once you rise up in street cred.
They Will Remember, which isn’t on the list, looks interesting but I would find it more annoying than anything if gangers just attack me on sight (as opposed to playing “nice” in public and setting up ambushes).
idk but can i just say that the double jump upgrade is probably the most important upgrade for having fun
