Sure the trick with such people is to continue making it expedient. But history tells us this is not simple thing and you’re pushing against the empire at its strongest point (institutionalized parties in a bourgeois democratic system of the imperial core). That’s why accepting this as a method for success is precarious at best. And that’s why the weak “we won’t give em the weapons for free anymore” is the best we will get until more rigorous methods are applied. I hope the DSA marxists can make that happen, but I refuse to accept this as an example of a method for victory.

Why? One of the most popular politicians in the United States is normalizing pro-Palestinian politics. Why shouldn’t we positively reinforce that development and hail it as a victory? It’s worth it if only for morale purposes

Pro Palestinian politics is already normal among the huge percentage of Americans. Getting 1 politician to come near, but still not to, a position with some backbone, is a success in some small way. But celebrating a small step towards a likely dead end is a dangerous thing. For morale amongst DSA, sure, but that energy should be redirected towards paths that will achieve something durable

Not in DC where power is actually concentrated, the media and the establishment can easily ignore millions of pro-Palestinian Americans, but they can’t easily ignore the most popular politicians in the country and one of the likely front-runner for 2028

That has ripple effects that only benefits us and puts eye-balls on our messaging

Yeah, of course to all this, but then that means that the syrategy cant be ‘get DC people to change position through political pressure campaigns of influence through DSA.’ It’s still attacking the strongest point without having any huge weakness or flaw to exploit, as far as I can tell
