I ask as a lesbian. I myself don’t find it gross but I had a friend who did. Now, she was probably an ignorant 13-year-old when this happened, but she hasn’t changed over the past few years. However, I can’t say I know her stance nowadays.

I understand girls not liking content romance between girls because they don’t swing that way, but what about not liking it because “girls kissing is gross”

    Personal Taste ≠ Bigotry

It is ridiculous to think that anyone has to like or prefer something. That’s like saying there is something wrong for not liking the taste of licorice. If she thinks two girls kissing is gross, that’s fine, she is allowed to feel how she feels. If she thinks that two girls kissing is wrong on some moral or ethical level she is being a bigot.

There is a huge difference there, and it is extremely important in today’s world to understand this difference.

This situation kinda reminds me of a Bill Burr bit (before the whatever-the-hell happened):

He was walking along somewhere and suddenly saw two guys kissing. He described it as, his animal brain kicked in because he wasn’t expecting it, but after his ‘people’ brain kicked in and he was fine with it

yeah you need a bit of exposure to happy gay couples for your brain to connect the dots and go “aw, that’s sweet, they’re happy.”
