christian supremacy is so entrenched, anything that pisses them off and undermines their social position is good. making privileged people feel uncomfortable is good, categorically.
internet atheists were annoying (the primary backlash wasn’t because of the racist faction when the default reddit position was hating muslims), real life christians take away your rights, your healthcare, want to kill trans people, and are currently trying to destroy the world because they think jesus will come back if they do enough zionism and wars.
It would be more effective to circle it and write something like “Congress shall make no such law” and point out the flagrant disregard for the constitution the US courts have when it conflicts with their personal preferences.
It punches harder, is at least 80% less cringe, doesn’t feel like a personal attack to a Christian, and has at least some possibility of getting someone to realize what a sham it all is.
ok? we’ll assume for the sake of argument that any of that happened, and your problem is with the redditor and not the anticommunists who put it on the money in the first place, or the person who threw a tantrum over it?
You’ll notice that the screenshot which I just made says that the post happened almost 18 years ago. I wonder what this person is doing now and if they’re still drawing on dollar bills.
I don’t have any problem with it. I just think it’s silly and pointless. It makes me laugh. I recall there being many similar incidents of people drawing over the ‘in god we trust’ around 2010. Seems to have mostly been forgotten.
Writing “Trump is a pedophile” on dollars is to the same effect.

the primary contradiction seems obvious to me.

It reminds me of the Occupy Wallstreet era.
