**>- If any app ( regardless of the platform they are in ) you know of that is fully FOSS and doesn’t have any ads , tracking or any other anti features that didn’t make the list it is a mistake and you can dm me and i will add it. The same goes for apps that are not really FOSS or have anti features , Even though i have tried my best some mistakes could’ve been made or if the newer updates of one of the apps listed made it unworthy to be included in the list , the platform it listed on isn’t available for it or the link is broken you can dm me and i will remove/fix it.

- I feel like you should split this into sections by OS. - Android - jerboa
- etc
 - iOS - memmy
- etc
 - Yes please. I would love to find a Unix Lemmy app so I can browse on Ubuntu - Liftoff has one

- https://lemmyapps.netlify.app/, filter by “Open source”? - But does that guarantee there is no ads or anything in those apps ? - Removed by mod - Boost also has ads - Removed by mod

- Yeah but i am creating a very specific and really curated list ( atleast hopes to ). So can’t take any chances.

- memmy

- Liftoff seems unmaintained and is incompatible with a lot of updated servers/features - I know but as they have not officially declared the end of development and certain instances such as .world still run 18 i am leaving it there until any change happens. - Liftoff hasn’t been touched for more than 6 months…it’s absolutely abandoned, no need point people in the direction of dead and deprecated apps. - And i use a keyboard that was abadoned for 2 years and bought back. - With the significant difference being that a KB still works for it’s primary purpose even if not actively developed on anymore. Liftoff is completely broken for a lot of the fediverse, so it’s not able to do the only thing a Lemmy app is supposed to do…browse Lemmy instances. - If you insist on keeping broken software on the list, at least make a note that is broken and not currently maintained. - I have put a note on that app that it doesn’t work for instances running 0.19.0 or higher
- But still for some it works.

- 🤦♀️

- Summit is FOSS? Their github page is just a readme and prebuilt APKs. - I might have to do some research someone told me in one of the threada - That was me. My mistake.

- There is awesome-lemmy and the lemmy-apps megathread, I don’t think there is a need to duplicate efforts. - One does have closed source app and the other is on git. Not exactly what i am making . - Yeah, but i don’t think these are meaningful differences. - I think there is a place for this on lemmy

- Thunder is on play store and app store. - Thunder is awesome

- Ads*
 Other*
 Anti-features*
And you don’t put a space before a comma.- Fix your title. - Ok grammer nerd but thanks i guess. - Grammar*

- Voyager is available for ios. I‘m using it rn. Dunno if you had a reason to exclude it. - Will include it
- I’m using it on android but the whole interface is iOS style, I’m guessing it was made for iOS in the first place. - Possible. No idea, honestly. It works well on ios though.

- Most of these are already on https://join-lemmy.org/apps , and if any aren’t, you should do a PR to add them. - Whats a PR ? - deleted by creator - Oh got it . Thanks

- Anyone got a recommendation for an android app that supports site emojis? - Jerboa does support emojis - hell yeah thanks - Melcowe

- Is it ad free ? - Yes? Where do you see ads? It’s fully open source and run by many Lemmy instances as an alternative UI. For example: https://old.lemmy.world/

- And which one is the best? I can’t be bothered to try them all. (I’m currently using Eternity, should I switch to something else?) - I can’t answer your question because you gave no context. I think eternity is good personnely but if you are looking for a certain feature then maybe i can recommend something . If you are happy enough just stay on it. - Thanks. I don’t think I’m looking for anything in specific. I’m just always keeping my eyes open. And I don’t know if other clients have more features or other benefits. I get along with Eternity reasonably well but I’m also not set on it. If you say there’s nothing clearly superior, I’ll stay on it. - Jerboa has some mod tools and voyager has better DM UI and post , user earching . But you will miss the costumisation and some side bar features of eternity.

- Well eternity is missing the community search feature. - I use jerboa to search a community and then eternity if I search for a post since each doesn’t have the other function 😅 - Otherwise eternity is the best of the 6 or so that I have tried. - My Eternity has that feature. If I search for something with the magnifying glass icon, the next screen that opens has 3 tabs: Posts, Communities and Users… - I have just been doing it wrong for years 😂 - I always long pressed the floating button and used “go to community” and it would have a suggestion list. - I guess I can delete jerboa! - 😆
