  • How do you intake caffeine and how much?

  • Mostly only one cup when I wake up and that's only because I like the taste as caffeine has no or the opposite effect on me. I drink some Redbull-like knockoff (boycotted redbull) every now and then, also just because I like the taste, can and often do easily go to sleep any time after.

  • Ooh, gonna try that! I sadly have the "fresh cilantro tastes like soap" gene, but dried is fine and I can see that working well. We almost always get pepperoncini with our pizza too, they're called feferoni here. Used to hate them as a kid but now I love them, I usually bite off the tip and squeeze out the liquid onto my pizza!

  • Here in Sweden and I think some of the other Scandinavia countries we have a thing called "pizza sallad" that you always get when you buy a pizza. It's shredded cabbage, often a bit of julienned pickled red bell pepper and a vinegarette from white whine vinegar, oil (any mild flavoured), salt, black pepper, some dried herbs (oregano is most common) and sometimes a bit of chilli flakes. Looks like this (including the classic plastic container):

    Some have it on the side before, during or after eating the pizza, and others put it on the pizza like a topping. It's a bit similar to sauerkraut but less sour, highly recommend to try as it's so easy to make.   • Same, and I'm both happy and sad about that. Happy because I don't need that stress and anger, sad because I like the worlds in most of them and many of my friends absolutely love them and it'd be nice to share that.

  • Tried clearing the cache but not change. And as said, it loads nowhere else too. Tried waiting 15 minutes but it never gets anywhere. Everything else works fine, all other instances on all lemmy apps and everything else on all browsers, really weird.

    Edit: I checked several different "down for everyone or just me" sites and all said it's down...

  • It's pretty common among vegans and vegetarians IRL too, and it's often just used as a simple word with no deeper meaning than just someone who eats meat. Like "hey, X is coming to dinner next week, they're a carnist though so we gotta make something that they'd like".

  • Not sure what your point is here, but as per the other replies to the one you replied to that just doesn't work well for all different kinds of rice. So my completely uninformed thoughts right now are that brown rice needs a longer time with hot water to get to the point we consider cooked. The way a rice cooker works, if they all do like you've said, makes the water evaporate too quickly so it it doesn't get enough time to get into the core of the rice kernels of some kinds. And I'm sure it's too much for other kinds where you end up with overcooked, too sticky or even like porridge like, rice.

  • Just it being Windows, no matter those things, should be enough for everyone to go "Lol. No thanks." But sadly that isn't and won't be the case. Hundreds of millions of people will just go along with it, even the idea of something else existing will never occur for them and Microsoft knows this. All the hate and outrage about how evil they are and how Windows has gone to (from like Windows 95) absolute shit has only made a very small portion of their possible userbase switch to or even ignited the idea of finding out about something else. I think the only way Microsoft will loose enough "customers" is if it just dies, nothing else will make the average person lift a single finger or have a neuron activate for making the leap.

  • A friend of mine had a party at her place on the most recent new years eve, there were several people who I hadn't met before there and we quickly realised we were all Linux users and, of course, absolute fucking nerds (I mean that with pride and appreciation).She is very much not a nerd in that way and most others there weren't too. It took about 15 minutes before she threw her hands up in the air and said "guys, this isn't fun for anyone else, if you really need to only talk about operating systems and shit like that you'll have to leave. Everyone else wants to hang with you guys too but no one can if you keep this in-group thing going."And, yeah, we all understood her view. Of course we put up a playful fight though, first acting all disappointed and then saying "ok, ok, we'll leave then. Have fun being all boring and stuff without us cool kids" etc. which it took her a while to realise wasn't serious, heh.For the rest of the night we had to stop ourselves several times from getting back into it, both among ourselves and with other people. All of it was great though, and made some new Linux geek friends!
