lol, lmao.
Temper my pessimism with an evidence based temperature prediction
deleted by creator
Yeah, if we weren’t jacking up energy usage and building new coal/gas plants maybe I’d be less pessimistic.
Right, despite whatever solar capacity we’ve built out our emissions are still rising. They need to go to zero, like right now.
from the article:
Delegates will next month gather for the COP30 climate conference against a backdrop of progress, the Financial Times wrote: There is already four times as much solar capacity worldwide as analysts in 2010 forecast for 2035, and predictions of warming have fallen from 4°C to 2.6°C.
2.6 degrees is still worldwide catastrophe levels of temperature rise. how is that still the title of this article?
sure it does yeah, sure
tempers climate change pessimism
Everyone isn’t 12, everyone is 5.
the place with probably the most growth of energy consumption (USA) has completely abandoned solar:
But momentum is uneven. US support for solar has collapsed: Subsidies have been scrapped and permitting has become more difficult, even as other countries have raced ahead. That slower growth means that targets to triple global solar capacity by 2030 will probably be missed, and growing demand for energy means emissions are still rising.
consider my pessimism untempered.
