Keep in mind that the PPB of 2020 is basically nonexistent. There’s been massive turnover and hiring since then. Ask yourself who are the type of people who would willingly join after all of the Summer of 2020 protests. And the city HATED cops in the wake of that. It makes sense the new recruits would be people who believed in changing the system from within. At least, that’s my optimistic view overall.
I’ve been super impressed with chief Day’s eloquence and rising to meet the moment, and being a leader.

How does someone actually ask this question and then not immediately think of Derek Chauvin and all the other complicit officers? Do they actually think that was just a fluke and that >99% of cops wouldn’t have been running up to help him or standing by complicit themselves?

r/Portland has been utterly insufferable.
It’s all either posts about how nice out it is and how it’s not a war zone or posts about how protestors should not “take the bait” and “remain peaceful”. And then I saw this shit this morning. Fucking bootlickers. The cops are specifically ignoring the request of city council to not go to these protests because they don’t fucking do anything and they’re racking up absurd amounts of overtime pay to do said nothing.
The first post i saw was about the American flag, immediately closed the page
