Seems like they’ve taken a pretty hard stance on genocide to me - it’s just that their stance is “pro-genocide.”

It’s a lot more complicated than that. Their stance is "Pro-genocide, as long as it’s profitable and far enough away that I don’t have to see it.

Actually, I guess it’s not that complicated after all.

It’s even more interesting: the people currently in charge in the party in Government got the leadership following a campaign of slandering as anti-semite of the previous leader of that Party until he left, which was done mainly with the help of Israeli-linked Jewish groups in Britain.

Given that Britain has FPTP like the US it was pretty much guaranteed that getting the leadership of that party would put them in Government sooner or later.

They de facto were bought by Israel in this way.

The only good thing that can be said about these people is that they stay bought.

Honestly, the current wall with its ghostly silhouettes of the original art is almost as good as the original piece.

Its been speculated that was probably done intentionally (making removing the detailed copy easy to remove but the adhesive hard to remove) knowing the standard response would be to take it down.

It would fit the more performative art style that they’re known for.

Typical elitist behaviour. What were you expecting? “Damn, he got us?! Guess we have to do right by the people now…” Power has always tried to silence dissent. It’s our job to amplify it until they can’t drone it out.

In its analysis, the organization also considered alternative arguments such as ones that Israel was acting recklessly or that it simply wanted to destroy Hamas and did not care if it needed to destroy Palestinians in the process, demonstrating a callous disregard for their lives rather than genocidal intent.

Intentionally killing an entire race/religion/ethnic group versus not giving a fuck that you are actively killing an entire race/religion/ethnic group while ‘trying to achieve other goals’, is just as bad if not worse.

Intentions aside, it’s the results that matter. Israels actions are directly resulting in the destruction of the Palestinian people, and that is not at all acceptable regardless of their intentions or desires.

not that i believe banksy is litter or condone genocide, but just for those curious the source’s argument can essentially be applied to “britain declared littering is worse than genocide” as well
