like for real what the fuck, my tomatoes were doing great all summer and then all of a sudden some mite pieces of shit get BLOWN IN ON THE WIND? and nothing is fucking killing these fuckers. I’ve drenched all the plants with permethrin based shit that claims to kill spidermites, NOTHING. I drenched them in this shit that specifically says it’s a miticide and fungicide with like tau fluvolinate or what the fuck ever in it. NOTHING. I tried a different permethrin spray, nothing. I bought a bottle of this spinosad shit that also advertises killing spider mites, NOTHING. like literally not even any visible impact whatsoever.
nobody needs to tell me about neem oil because I’m not going to out out there and physically remove all these mites and shit and I really doubt neem oil is going to do shit when I’ve already basically gassed these plants like they’re Germans in the great war with some INCLUDING oil based smothering agents and it’s done fuck dick all
I should have just bought and unleashed thousands of predatory mites but at the time it was like “wow that would be like 50 fuckin’ dollars, these tomatoes ain’t worth that” but now the mites are all up in my fucking peppers, rosemary, and my fucking lemon tree too

Have you tried blasting all the leaves off with water? Kinda a lot for a tomato plant but I’ve done this for peppers and it works great
It’s been a long time since I’ve thought about this stuff but I think that the reason spider mites are such a motherfucker to kill is that they have a waxy exterior. It’s possible that adding insecticidal soap to a pyrethrin/pyrethroid spray will help penetrate it enough to kill them. It might take a few sequential applications. I would definitely not use a systemic.
the internet says malathion is a systemic insecticide that gets taken up into the plant, y’all think I should try that? I didn’t get it at the store because it’s in this big fuckin’ jug and demands I do math for proper dilution and I was like “i don’t have a spraying wand/tank so idk fuck that”
Dunno usually systemics get into the fruit and are thus no good. Predators really the only other worthwhile thing to try, but hard to justify on a small garden if you can’t somehow keep them around over winter for the next season
Not if you want to eat the tomatoes. Systemics will end up in the fruit and I’m pretty sure all systemic pesticides are at least carcinogens to humans
