Broke: the western zodiac has its roots in volkisch occultism, drinking from the same spring that gave us Aryanism and the Nazis.

Woke: the belief that there is a supernatural order to things, a preordained reason behind the current reality, is not material. It is the belief that life and the conditions one experiences are due to powers beyond our control and not economic happenstance or due to entirely earthly and human power hierarchies. Belief in the zodiac is belief in a lack of individual or collective ability to change one’s circumstances.

Helena Blavatsky’s Theosophy mixed Hinduism, Buddhism, astrology, and Western occultism. Root races, Aryans and hyperborea type shit which Nazis yoinked later.

I don’t think it was originally problematic but it became so through generally being tainted by angloid bullshittery

They were basically all incredibly racist in that circle. Some of them liked to do what was basically spiritual phrenology.

There is a direct line between the esotericism of her era and what became of Nazi esotericism later on. Not a causal relationship, but it’s easy to follow the few steps it took to get there.

So it was always problematic and pseudo science nonsense. Those ideas are still used to scam people today too.

the moon cycles prefigure an adoption of a week as a unit of time measurement. can you have 40 hour work week without it? what if moon rotation was 32 days? would we have 2/8 weekends or 3/8 weekends? does marxism predict this? checkmate, virgo-marxists.

I actually wonder, if babylonians had some other things in mind (say menstrual cycles), which they conveniently dumped on the moon as very visible proxy. or, rather, if the menstrual cycles were noticeably different (say 40 days), which would win - fertility cults or big visible rock in the sky. i’m probably inclined to a rock, cause it’s so pretty and easy to divide in 4 parts and importantly universal, but egyptians didn’t give a fuck either way so who knows shrug-outta-hecks ).

*would a child born in winter be more sickly than the one in the autumn? Traditional marriage months treat may-july as ideal, so that would be around february-march for childbirth, with all things being fertile and so on. which might fit harvest window for food availability during active fetus development (or no availability being less shit option at 3 months out rather than say 6, as a sign to eat some special herbs and be done with it). would chinese adoption of 2 rice harvests change to different months being considered lucky for marriage?

**is chinese animal 12 year cycle linked to solar cycles (11 years so a misfit, and doesn’t fall under 60 year pattern as well)? to el-nino? shrug-outta-hecks

tl;dr as in all topics, you can ponder materialist reason of beliefs and structures and have fun. harvests de-syncing to people real material existence happened somewhere around late 19th century in the west in the rural areas, so not too long ago, around 18th-19th century for the urban. it follows that people had strong ideas about when to conceive a child for thousands of years, according to their local geography and climate, migratory patterns of animals and harvests. it can look as something silly (conceived under equinox child would be lucky), and when material reason disappears we are left with atavistic belief in whatever characteristics of taurus being strong.

(p.s. this is all pondering the orb and having fun, i’m not saying it is “just so”, like those evolutional psychology people, and shouldn’t be taken as truth, but rather fun way to bullshit around with friends)

I could get into edging with lenin. Should I try this at the steamworks

EDIT: went to the steamworks. Was too busy having gay sex to talk about lenin. Spoon talk was all small talk. Overall not a good avenue for communist propagandizing
