There is no evidence, it’s roughly 100% copium. The few statistical analyses done thus far show no discernible change.

Everything they attribute to russian data centers could be run from a 12 year old gaming laptop. Their bogeyman is simultaneosly too weak to maintain operational redundancy of bots yet strong enough to sway elections of a foreign super power.

I think the “russian bots got hit” narrative is mostly a big cope. The same libs would likely be very upset about the destruction of US AI data centers, but I think some half-awake libs would actually consider cheering for it. So this gives the “good data centers” a scapegoat for the anti-AI data center fervor to dissipate without impacting the US AI bubble.
It’s a very odd contradiction that can collapse like a house of cards with just a tiny bit of critical analysis.
Gonna be interesting when Iran blows up all the data centers in the gulf states and suddenly no one online gives a fuck about mamdani or abdul el-sayed or aoc or bernie or kamala or…

It’s cope I think (they’re citing dropoff in web scraping by Yandex’s out-in-the-open search engine bots rather than fake social accounts) - alot of right wing content gets spun out of other countries where engagement farming pays well relative to cost of living, maybe some of them used Yandex services but I couldn’t imagine the entirety, or even a majority did.
It’s very much an extension of russophobia, I don’t think it’s much more complicated than that
It starts with them being idealists who refuse to understand the rise of fascism as capitalism in crisis and colonialism turning inward. Instead, they blame it on idealist factors, that is: propaganda. But then they have to explain the efficiency of that propaganda without having to reckon with the fact that the ruling ideology is the ideology of the ruling class.
That is the point were their chauvinisms kick in: Western national chauvinism tells them that the propaganda must be a product of foreign interference and that this foreign nation must be Russia (and not the USA that is the actual source of most foreign-financed propaganda in Europe and that openly and vocally supports far-right parties in Europe). And their social darwinist stance in class warfare means that they view uneducated poor people as being too stupid to resist this propagandistic onslaught.
So when you show them that yandex web crawler traffic dropped, they think the spell on the East German zombie horde is now broken and Robert Habeck will finally become chancellor.
You can switch out some names for US libs, it’s mostly the same nonsense.
