What if you’re not a beautiful man?

Edit: well so many of you have been very nice. I was sort of just being stupid (I wouldn’t think of myself as beautiful, but acceptable) but thank everyone for their very positive comments. It made me happy to see the responses.

Despite how fun, cool, and numerous their plethora of eyes are, beholders are xenophobic against everyone especially other beholders. This leaves them incapable of forming a consensus around anything let alone beauty.

Ngl, I learned what the DnD monster Beholder was before I learned what it ment to behold. I was confused by that statement well into adulthood until I finally realized that a beholder is just someone who is beholding something.

      a. eye of the beholder
      b. beauty is not a default state of being*, it requires effort. How much effort of entirely up to you, if you like yourself with makeup (and yes this does go for men too) then use makeup, if you don’t then don’t bother. do you think you’d like longer hair? shorter? colored?
And if you think you’re so uniquely ugly as to be utterly sure that nothing you can do will make you happy you may want to interrogate those feelings, there’s probably more going on under the surface there.

      * this does not mean that someone who is unwilling or unable to put that effort in is “ugly”. this is about your perception of yourself. your perception of other is irrelevant unless asked for

I’m sure there’s things under the surface, but I don’t consider myself ugly or anything like that. I was sort of being dumb with my original reply. But thank you. I really appreciate it.

Never tried makeup, but I always have my nails painted haha.

I saw this before it was deleted. But look at the other replies to my comment. They apply to everyone.

If you think you’re not going to have changes in weight and body hair as you get older just because you’ve already gone through puberty, you’re going to have a bad time.

Btw, equating twinks to children is pretty fucked up and homophobic.

Or they could just be going from a twink to a bear. Yanno, no more shaving, muscle building, things like that. They literally said, “when a beautiful man” not “a beautiful boy”.

Eh, I was just trying to be charitable. I haven’t seen a lot of lgbt-phobic stuff on Lemmy (admittedly probably because I think my instance has defederated from the right-wing instances along with places like lemmygrad and hexbear) so I figured there was a >10% chance they were simply confused and possibly didn’t realize that bears are a thing.

i’m going to be charitable and assume that you just don’t know better so here, but you should be aware that equating queer attraction to child molestation is uh. Not Good, actually.

Hey, if a bunch of queer people tell you that you ignored the obvious on its face reading of a tweet in order to make up something homophobic to get mad about instead, maybe you should listen to them.

You clearly have no understanding of the matter to begin with if you think twinks are children.

love have you checked the link? attraction to fat hairy men is a cornerstone of queer culture and history.

also when i said that comparing queer attraction to pedophilia is bad i wasn’t saying the attraction was bad (it is, don’t get me wrong), i was saying the comparison itself is bad.

if you have somehow managed to avoid the last half decade of politics– in which case tell me who your geosomnologist is cos i want some of that– the global right-wing has been calling LGBT folks groomers for a while now. so if you make such a comparison yourself not only are you signaling to us that you’re one of them, you’re also signaling it to them too.
i hope i don’t need to explain why that’s bad

my good person, you need to take a break from the right wing alarm machines

you are the only one here who is uneducated enough to think that “weight and body hair” are the only signs of post-puberty maturity in men

a lot of men don’t put on weight well into their 20s, for reasons which are completely explainable without “second puberty”, something you entirely brought into this conversation as a strawman to knock down by yourself

a lot of men also have trouble growing body hair. not every man is a big hairy fuck (affectionate, as i am a big hairy fuck). also, plenty of men shave their body hair, and it’s still fine to be attracted to them. are you going to start calling straight men pedophiles for being attracted to shaved women???

you may also note that twinks are famously attractive for being quite muscular, which is very difficult to achieve without the heightened testosterone levels post-puberty

please stop posting these deliberate false exaggerated takes. it’s really ruining the vibe, tbh

(ps: second puberty is a thing, but it’s a trans person thing, so it’s not part of this argument)

you’re being homophobic and kind of racist, too (not all ethnicities grow very much body hair, but apparently being attracted to them would also make you a pedo). so if you’re not right wing, you’re sure acting like it

i hope you have a really unpleasant day and get banned
