The late producer (Eckhart) claimed that Fox News should have taken steps to stop (co-worker and accused rapist) Henry, alleging that the network “continues to protect and reward perpetrators of sexual harassment and refuses to take accountability for putting such persons in positions of power.”

Florida’s Martin County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed Eckhart’s death to Entertainment Weekly on Monday. TMZ was first to report Eckhart’s death, with the Miami Herald confirming via a Martin County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson that she died by suicide and found dead in her home on Sept. 19.

A federal judge dismissed Fox News as a defendant in Eckhart’s lawsuit in March 2025.

Eckhart eventually settled the five-year legal battle in June 2025.

“This has been an exhaustive, retraumatizing, five-year legal battle with incredible challenges that at times I almost felt was unable to bear,” Eckhart told EW sister site PEOPLE in a statement at the time. “With this settlement in place, a weight has now been lifted from my shoulders and my passion to support fellow trauma survivors has been renewed.”
