    It’s because consumers expect certain level of production values which is then amplified by the scale of FFVI story. By the time you invest in the required assets you want to maximise bang for your buck so each location needs more depth and that’s how you end up with something like FFVII Remake.

      Hard disagree. Customers don’t care about production values nearly as much as executives who want a big-budget trailer and screenshots to show off to investors.

        FFVI was rereleased for pretty much every platform already, sold relatively well and should satisfy that demographic. People are asking for a bigger FFVI remake because only something grand could do that story justice in another format.

          Which people? Who is a fan enough of FF6 to want a remake, but doesn’t like the presentation of FF6 and wants it bloated with spectacle?
