Because it has to be somewhat error proof, if you are only missing a fraction of the data, i expected that there would be a way to complete the missing message ?
I have no knowledge of that, but as the movies left in stasis total about 0.5% of the movies in my library I’m okay leaving it or finding a substitute. I also only use torrents, no idea about the Usenet atm
At this point, couldn’t you just use the data you already downloaded and use error correction to fill in the rest ?
Isn’t that more of an .NZB thing, with the way it uses RAID parity?

You’re right but as far as I’m aware, that must be baked in beforehand with parity files/blocks.
I’m only aware of a few things that do this, .NZB files used in Usenet downloads being the main thing (and of course RAID arrays).
