Nope. On wifey switch she has breath of the wild. Would’ve loved to play this (probably) but it’s controller-only and I horribly suck with those. Only non-time-critical and no reaction-based games are okay-ish. I never understood how people can be pretty good in competitive fps with those things and watch those with awe.

I went from joystick to m+k. This is so wired in my brain, I never catched up with controllers.

So there’s not much motivation to emulate 😑

yeah i only do turn based games on emulation. i’m a quarter of the way through Xenogears (at the Aveh tournament, with the high speed text cheat on) on duckstation on my phone. i won’t pressure you, just if you want to know some of my favorites i probably have a list somewhere

Hehe, sure. Although my backlog is currently at 350 titles I really wanna play. The scarcity of the 80s and 99s really had its benefits…

just look up a list of the best playstation 1, snes, and genesis RPGs and cross off anything that looks shitty to you. You’re not allowed to cross off any of the final fantasies until you’ve played chrono trigger, which is uncrossoutable. yeah i’m sure that’s a word.

But dude…those are pretty reaction-happy, and with a controller I barely manage walking reliably. Unless the emulators can do controller=>m+k-conversion, my frustration-tolerance would be tested tremendouly :-) But hey, i at least played FF-online on PC, if that counts a lil

oh yeah, i played them all on a laptop. there are a lot of turn based ones rather than twitchy ones. esdf for the d-pad, jkui for the xaby, h for L, L for R, and i think i put start and select on < and > too. not much use for the mouse besides mariopaint
