I'm surely no pixel fanboy. I bought the 6 pro when it came out only because it was ironically more open than the others.
I'm actually still pissed at how incredibly bad the fingerprint sensor is for a 1200,- flagship (of that time). My 100 bucks banking-phone beats that by a large margin.
And I would really say that "is better" is very subjective. To me? Openness, large good oled screen, modern WiFi and good camera. In that order.
Is my old pixel good? Yes. Is it better than others of the same class? Yes. For me. But it looses in pure numbers and benchmarks. I just couldn't care less, personally.
And jup, my next one (whenever this sucker dies, it's still running solid) will be Linux. Or whatever semi decent alternative will be current then.
I'm done with big tech
Because it's cheaper and easier to just cut them off. It's just pets.
And yes, there wouldn't be any of those things if we wouldn't have the desire to own living beings 😁
Surely depends on what kind of gamer you are.
For me, the museum-mod (forgot the name) and all its addons made the last run very special despite the aging everything. It totally changed the way I did everything. And it all revolved around collecting all the shit I never cared for.
I have dreamed of such gadgets when I was a nerd-kiddo. Now I'm a nerd-adulto for decades and grew too cynical and weep at all those great innovative gadgets with this one being the epitome of "fuck you and your privacy!".
Oh wow, yeah. One phone in one specific version or setting is ownable by exploit. until fixed. I'm flabbergasted.
Make them all ownable, by default, by law.
I don't pay >1k moneyz to basically rent a phone that is never mine.
