my turtle:

I think you’ve been had.
Turtles can’t climb ladders.
Sitting outside and listening to the birdsong.
Smoking weed.
Watching my fish.
Cold water. Or a cold drink really. I’m a bit too forgetful with my hydration
It has to be a consistent practice for it to work, but it does work. Start each day (or early in the day do this) by thinking of three things for which you’re grateful. They don’t have to be profound. Example:
- Got beers with buddy before his family takes a month-long vacay
- An app that I like recently released a new version with enhancements and new features
- Building mgmt offered some free rent for lease renewals during the same time we’d be renewing anyway
Try it. It works. But it took a fair amount of time to feel natural and easy, at least for me.

That has also improved my day.

When my any of my cats greet me at the door when I come home from work.
One of them does it more frequently - she’ll either hang out in the front window or my bedroom window, see me, hop down and be at my feet when I open the door. She’ll chirp and I’ll pick her up once I put down my bags.
