Broadfern@lemmy.worldto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What would be the womb of a forest?English3·2 hours ago…the soil? That’s where seeds/spores are planted and subsequently grow into trees, and where they get their nutrients from.
Unless you’re talking about the seeds themselves, which are kind of a “shell” from which they literally branch out, depending on the species.
Generous placement on the starred quadrupeds to be honest
FP and Electron both are brutal on limited storage, so being able to pick and choose where needed can be helpful.

Multiple people are getting paid so they can make a living, more money flows through the economy and even if you don’t personally find it to your taste, it’s still the result of cumulative human efforts.
Gen AI has its uses in personal entertainment but I will spit on the corpo who tries to make me pay for art a person didn’t actually compose/play.
Spotify is no paragon of morality but at least I can find real, human artists via the platform and see/support them in other ways.
When it comes to human expression, I only want my money to go to human expression (even if it’s deemed “soulless”).

They’re observant lil’ critters. Even the slightest twinge off and they’ll pick up on it fast.
My cats know I’m sick before I do more often than not.

Something something states’ rights is my guess.
Broadfern@lemmy.worldto Uplifting News@lemmy.world•U.S. Supreme Court rejects Montana’s bid to revive parental consent law for minors' abortionsEnglish335·3 days agoIt’s Montana’s state Supreme Court, not the federal Supreme Court. Two distinct entities under a confusing name scheme.
Probably with no seatbelt too, given how Gen X that kid looks

What if I use it on myself?

Does the recipient have to love a person, or can we, say, make one for the environment and the wellbeing of all our fellow living things?

Broadfern@lemmy.worldto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What seemingly backwards solutions have worked for you in life?English461·4 days agoUsing my phone helps me sleep.
I play a simple grid-based game (crosswords, sudoku) for about 15 minutes and before I realize it I’m out cold.
Every bit of “sleep hygiene” that gets condescended at me only makes my insomnia worse, save for the generalized concept of a routine.
More time in my room helps too, as opposed to less - unfamiliarity and performance anxiety creep up on me.

You’re right to be put off of it though, MS is…yeah.

These feelings about topics are pretty common in the neurodivergent/autistic community and are called “special interests” in our sphere. So “Cats/animals special interest” might be a helpful search query?

Lukewarm feelings or too poor, sure.
I love my original Switch and (most of) its first-party titles but each new article about its successor is making me want a Steam Deck instead.

Mine lays on me in such a way that I have to audition for Cirque du Soleil so I can turn over, after which she promptly tells me I have “done a bad” and gets in my face to demand pets as recompense before going back to laying on me in the most space-consuming manner possible.
Forget manspreading. Catspreading is far more spatially offensive.
Grew up far north of the Mason Dixon and moved to a warmer climate; you’re not alone. You wrote out my thoughts exactly.
I curse every cold minute until I can wear shorts again because pants and skirts are awful and I hate long sleeves and socks and just all of it. That and the dark make seasonal depression go haywire even with the “shorter” winters.
Some days I dream of moving to western Ecuador where it’s ~87°F year-round.
