Closest I’ve seen to this being done was the movie Black Hawk Down. Meanwhile can you imagine everyone screaming at each other in the John Wick films? Other movies like Aliens would have been a whole different level of horrifying as the sound fades away until its just the sound of the actor’s muffled heart beat and their cluelessness that the xenomorph is crawling up behind them.
Why, why did I mag-dump a .45 in an enclosed booth at the range with no ear protection on? I thought I was being cool, like raw toughness could protect me from deafening sound.

Why? I am guessing you were in your 20’s? As I understand it, we’re a bunch of dumbasses until we hit our mid-30s. At least for me that’s when my personal level of fuckery was dialed down. Goddamn miracle how many of us make it to our 50’s :)
I was 23, and now I’m late 30s. It was probably not the dumbest thing I did at that age. Definitely not the dumbest.
