    After showing my niece The Labyrinth, she declared she loved it. So I was thinking of my other childhood films that were fantasy.

    And I came this close to showing her this one until I remembered the horse scene.

    No. I will not traumatize her like that.

    But another part of me thinks the trauma of 80s children films is part of what made so many great.

    Idk.

    Thoughts ?

    To traumatize or not to traumatize ?

      It depends on how old she is, and how the traumatic stuff is dealt with in the movie. I read the book several times, but the movie left me reeling, it was so bad…

      Basically I think even children’s stories should contain adversities and how to overcome them. Even the death of a beloved.

      The book I would always recommend for any children that are able to read it themselves.
