  • Yes. You have a circadian clock. It's a clock in your body and it's pretty accurate. It's why you get hungry around the same time every day.

    The experience of regularly waking up right before an unpleasant sound would occur is from operant conditioning.

    I used to live by a railroad track in the city. So all night at specific times, freight trains ran through , blasting their horns. After a month I would wake up about 5-10 min multiple times a night, right before the trains. So I could cover my head and ears.

    The decibels was nearly 80 in my apartment. Which was close to as if a lawnmower was running in my room. Insanely loud.

    So the aversion/punishment part of the conditioning worked well to train me to wake up and cover my head with a pillow.

  • Isn't it amazing that a human can be conditioned to respond behaviorally to a stimulus that requires precision tracking of time and also this occurs while sleeping. ?

    I mean think about it.

    You wake up 5 min before the alarm goes off. Consistently.

    Your brain kept track of the time the whole time you were sleeping. And was able to wake you up at the right moment with a specific thought "turn off the alarm".

    Honestly, conditioning theory is fascinating.

    But it's just aipac. And they have also bought plenty of women and brown people. So don't assume just cause the runner is brown or a woman they aren't bought and owned.

    Protests certainly gives that community feeling. Like we are all here together demanding change.

    Things going on are insane. It's not just me. Other people see it too. And that's comforting.

  • Sexuality is a complex thing for anyone. Regardless of whatever identity they use for themselves.

    I have actually a lot of friends who are asexual-ish. Once you are out with yours, you find that other people are more open with you about this.

    For some people they still want a romantic partner but have little to no interest in sexual acts with others.

    For others , like myself, I have no interest in romantic partners. And very little to no interest in sexual acts with others.

    Some asexuals have normal or even high libido but don't feel that emotion directed towards others. I would describe this as like wanting a snack but you open the fridge and there isn't anything in there you want.

    Some have very low to no libido.

    Some people who are very picky about partners and take a long time to feel comfortable, to be sexual, also sometimes call themselves asexuals.

    I'm not here to gatekeep but that really does sound like average sexual identity for most people. But if someone wants to use it for that, it's their choice.

    There are like 10 sub terms for asexuals but I personally find that superfluous. Everyone is different. I don't need a special label. If I want to explain myself, I will.

    Labels are limiting. And they sometimes make someone else think they get your whole deal when they don't.

  • Dude. Me too. Not saying some of those were from feeling pressured when I was younger , but a handful was from genuine (tho fleeting) interest.

    My logic is, I rarely (very rarely) feel that way so when I do and there isn't any obvious reason why I shouldn't (i.e they are in a relationship, or they are a co worker ) I go for it.

    My perspective: . Life is only once. Enjoy yourself (or someone else) when you can.

    Most women I know have lots of female friends. And have decent relationships with their dads. If they don't then the dad was a loser or toxic.

    The rest aren't really insults, so. 🤷

  • I was aware that he used legal maneuvering to take control. (From that video I referred to)

    And then at a certain point stopped abiding by the very system laws that allowed him to get into position.

    Which is very concerning. Because I think many people and many politicians are under the impression that they can keep trump in check with laws.

    But he only abides by them when they suit him and disregards them when they don't.

    And those who oppose him always stay within the laws.

    When we have no laws of enforcement/punishment of the executive branch, then any laws are dismissible by the executive branch when it suits them.

    And there is already a long history of presidents doing this. Trump isn't the first. Just the worst.

    Our current government system is set to ultimately fail when tested in this way.

    It's playing a game where your opponent is allowed to cheat with no penalty and can even change the rules at their whim. But you are bound to the rule book.

    Not impossible to still beat but nearly. And unlikely.
