Juneteenth is a U.S. holiday commemorating black emanicipation and power that originates from Galveston, Texas, where, on this day in 1865, Union General Gordon Granger proclaimed all slaves in Texas, more than 250,000 people, to be free.
Juneteenth is the oldest nationally celebrated commemoration of slave abolition in the United States.

Remember no crackers

lol crackers talking about anyone else having a “victim complex” when they literally can’t go a single day without finding ways to pretend to be oppressed. fucking trust fund frat bros saying it’s the holocaust all over again because they saw a Palestinian flag
They are so quick to go there, too. I wish I could just ask them: when was the time that black people were “spoiled” in this country? Can we all agree it was not before the Civil Rights Act? So ignore Rodney King to George Floyd because of whatever racist reasons they come up with- was 1970 to 2016 such an amazing time for black people that it makes up for the most sadistic and cruel system of slavery that the world has ever known? For the casual, systemicremoved, imprisonment and lynching of black people that continues to this day?
Anyone who sees non-white people as human would find those implications to be intolerable, which does raise some uncomfortable possibilities.
Its like some of them have absolutely no shame. They will find us talking among ourselves here to actually be directed at them and intended to hurt their feelings because we have nothing better to do with our lives. I don’t want to push white people too hard because they need to be part of the solution for progress but something has to give here.
Edit: Censoring my post because it accurately explains the horror of chattel slavery… How do you justify that whitewashing to yourself? It really makes me sick - fuck this website too
