This is addictive, from experience, even if I didn’t use it for therapy solely nor intentionally. I still get urges to use chatbots sometimes.

Well it is free, easiliy accessible basically everywhere and it can give an impression of helping you. That’s kinda hard to beat.

Not that I’m endorsing using ChatGPT as a therapist, i can just see the appeal of it.

Maybe having a fancy chatbot trained and supervised by actual mental health professionals be a nice alternative.

In Munich google might legally held responsible for output of AI overview.

If this continue big LLM company might soon legally responsible for mental health advise. That would funny.

Yeah I’ve seen those news as well. That’s a rather interesting development of events. Most definitely have to keep an eye on that one. What will the LLM companies do now as those do spew out bullshit rather often.

I’ve used it as an intermediate step before talking to my actual psychologist. Tried two years ago where results were a bit hit and miss, now it’s gotten pretty good

Yeah that’s exactly what happened a lot two years ago, but I actually found it more candid when I did it again recently, and it gave better follow-up questions now

Good to know, hopefully one day a supervised or specifically trained one can become adequate early substitute for actual therapy.

Seems at odds with all the other news that graduating classes most everywhere shout “BOO!” if A.I. is mentioned by a grad ceremony speaker.

Well, given that the entire entry level economy is now a nightmare of gigs with no benefits, people are probably just desperate.
