The commander of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Quds Force Esmail Qaani announced on 9 June the creation of a “new security belt” managed by the Axis of Resistance, spanning from the Strait of Hormuz to the Bab al-Mandab Strait.

This strategic corridor, encompassing the Persian Gulf and Red Sea, is designed to counter military actions by Israel and the US.

Qaani described the initiative as a coordinated effort by the “united resistance front,” praising Yemen’s missile strikes on Israel this week and its closure of the Bab al-Mandab Strait to Israeli shipping.

The Quds Force commander issued a direct warning to Iran’s adversaries, stating: “Borderless fighters are overseeing your transit chokepoints. Continue your aggression, and they will seize your throat.”
