There is a follow up post that answers my obvious question of “Why not just switch to a tty on your existing setup?” (Which seems more reasonable for most people) and also describes how research & writing fit together when effectively offline
Who wrote this, George R. R. Martin?
Jokes aside, that’s a great use for an old machine. Idk if my writing can be pared down that much (I use so many references and usually cross-check different sources before writing), but it’s a fun project. It does feel funny when the author says “I just this this simple command: STUFF THAT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO UNDERSTAND TO SOMEONE NOT ALREADY FAMILIAR WITH LINUX TERMINALS”. I understand their target audience might not be people who don’t know anything about Linux or who only have passing knowledge (like me), but it still reads a bit out there.
