  • when I told them there were other things I'd rather be doing,

So go and do those things.

  • If you have your own domain try Mxroute. I’ve set it up for family, no deliverability issues so far. Service is only tiered by storage, no limits otherwise.

  • Original character donut steel

  • It’s an implication of violence and will get you arrested in the UK if you’re Joe Public.

  • Death, death Incremental change by committee over decades to the IDF!

  • Vaxxed?

  • Ironically, Microsoft moving to eliminate kernel level anticheat after what happened with Crowdstrike will eventually mean Wine/Proton will run such games just fine unless they go out of their way to detect and ban Linux like Bungie do with Destiny 2.

  • I thought “neom” was the sound an airliner hijacked by saudis makes just before it crashes into a tower.

  • The Darkness plays more or less perfectly on rpcs3. Nightdive mentioned that they were looking at a remaster two years ago but that seems to have stalled.

    xenia flounders

    Have you tried xenia-canary?

And as you have a 360 you might want to look at ABadAvatar for a near seamless softmod experience.

  • It’s running a version of the blam engine (speculation is Reach’s) under the hood so gameplay is still halo. All rendering is handled by UE5. Modding should be easy.

  • Swarm (Locust 2.0) Hunters are female too.

  • It’s mostly the early AWS services that were created before AWS had the concept of regions.

Certain services e.g. IAM (who/what can access what and how) operate out of us-east-1. If your app is hosted in eu-west-1 but needs to assume an IAM profile to authenticate with S3 to read/write data, you’re fucked until IAM is back online.

S3 has regional buckets but the control plane effectively operates out of us-east-1.

You also need to factor in us-east-1 being the default in most tutorials and libraries, and that a lot of these companies are US based so will stick with that default and not bother with multi-region tenancy because it’s difficult to justify the expense.

  • us-east-1 continues to be the lynchpin holding all AWS regions together.

You can deploy across the globe with multiple redundant pathways and survive a meteor attack, but if some DNS is misapplied in us-east-1 everything falls apart.

This same outcome will keep happening so long as us-east-1 continues to have special treatment. We’re close to two decades of us-east-1 fucking up global services already, make it stop.

  • We mistreated and abused some folks

  • “Dubai Chocolate” is a euphemism for when sex workers take a shit on some Dubai millionaire’s/billionaire’s chest. This product category was astro turfed to overload the SEO/mindshare to refer to actual chocolate instead.

    I wish I was joking.

  • Use Docker, it’s ideal for things like this.

    Install Docker:

     shell

    sudo apt update
sudo apt install apt-transport-https ca-certificates curl gnupg
    curl -fsSL https://download.docker.com/linux/ubuntu/gpg | sudo gpg --dearmor -o /usr/share/keyrings/docker.gpg
    echo "deb [arch=$(dpkg --print-architecture) signed-by=/usr/share/keyrings/docker.gpg] https://download.docker.com/linux/ubuntu noble stable" | sudo tee /etc/apt/sources.list.d/docker.list > /dev/null
    sudo apt update
    sudo apt install docker-ce docker-ce-cli containerd.io docker-buildx-plugin docker-compose-plugin
    sudo systemctl enable --now docker

This installs the docker project’s GPG key they use to sign their packages, and adds the Ubuntu repo so you can install the packages as they don’t have a Mint specific repo. It then installs Docker and enables it now and on boot.

    Run RVC:

     shell

    mkdir rvc
    cd rvc
    docker run -d --name rvc --shm-size=256m --gpus all -v ./weights:/app/assets/weights -v ./opt:/app/opt -p 7865:7865 aladdin1234/rvc-webui:0.1

This creates and changes to an “rvc” directory in your current directory to keep things organised. This will download and run a 6GB image of RVC that a third party has published and mounts two directories relative to your current path (hence why we created an “rvc” directory earlier) so you can interchange data with the container, and binds the container’s port 7865 to your host’s 7865 so you can access it. You can always docker build the one that the project provides if you want instead.

In your browser, navigate to http://127.0.0.1:7865/

    When you’re done:

    docker stop rvc

If you want to start the same container again:

    docker start rvc

  • Been that way since the second plane hit.

  • If I was replaying and failing the same sequence 300 times I'd simply find something better to do with my one hour of free time after a day of labouring and stress, like playing a VN where I can enjoy a game's art, story, and music instead of frustrating myself trying to clear some artificially (lol it's a game everything's artificial) difficult mechanic.
