Both because jaundiced in babies is usually fine, but also because those most likely to have jaundice are premies and that would suck to be before the invention of the incubator
Jaundice isnt weird for babies, and in most cases isnt something that requires any intervention.
Kids get jaundiced because their little livers cant break down their blood overproduction (They’re switching out their fetal hemoglobin as they need to start breathing on their own instead of stealing mamas oxygen) so they get too much bilirubin, so they get jaundiced.
It’s fine.
