Going out on a day like this and seeing how many comrades there are gives you strength for what lies ahead. Getting organized and dedicating our time is the best we can do.

There was something I read from Che Guevara saying like it might require immense effort, pain, and sacrifice to fight against imperialism, but the fulfillment from the revolutionary life is the greatest joy a person of conscience can find. When you do something that actually feels meaningful in the struggle against injustice it gives you a feeling like nothing else can. We talk about how important it is for society and the future and such to build communism, but I think it’s helpful to remind unmotivated or discouraged people that it can be more enjoyable than anything else you can do, and a lasting joy that can warm your heart and inspire future action.

Happy May Day comrades. Being out there with other people, chanting choruses and feeling truly connected through class solidarity is like a breath of fresh air after being under water. Siamo tutti antifascisti!

We sang some Italian songs, and I heard English, German, Spanish, and even Yugoslavian ones. Songs about the liberation of the world are the most beautiful.

Check out Alistair Hulett’s cover of L’Internationale for some folksy feel good vibes, it’s very appropriate and when they sing “comrades” it sounds like “come, reds” and I can’t help but sing along

I got into a verbal altercation with someone shouting about open borders and pedophiles, and then I had an awkward conversation with a woman who said that my Palestinian flag terrified her.

Damn, I’m sorry you had to go through that today. You should know that millions of people stand with you, even if they aren’t always right by your side. Thank you, for what you are doing. Solidarity and a free Palestine!

Thank you for your kind words. It wasn’t all bad-- lots of good people today too. I posted right after I got home and was still feeling agitated by those interactions.
