Now I might just be totally full of shit but here is how I see it: If the United States were to ever enter a real war of attrition again somebody would have to walk into the board rooms of Raytheon and Lockheed Martin etc etc and say “look, the days of $4000 for a screw are over, do it again and we shoot you all in the fucking head for war profiteering. Get more weapons to the front line.”
