Johnny never says one word about V’s relationship with Judy. Though, I think he has a few things to say about Judy herself. Like, she’s a bit unhinged. Which foreshadows her ending.

Johnny has plenty to say about V’s relationship with River, though he seems to be okay with River otherwise. He’s a “badge” but he’s honourable, and what he does and would do is what Johnny would do.

Johnny’s “problem” is that he’s a straight guy — Kerry came on to him numerous times, especially after drinking, but Johnny always turned him down — and, experiencing everything V experiences, he doesn’t want to have sex with a man. I think, like most straight males who aren’t committed (and even some who are!), he would love the idea of sex with a woman as a woman. It’s like if you’re in a gender swap situation (e.g. 君の名は。 (your name.) or similar), as an adolescent or older guy, if you wake up in a girl’s body or a woman’s body, you wanna get laid, see what that’s like, but you still like girls/women. A straight guy isn’t going to go get a boyfriend/male partner just because he’s in a female body.

So yeah, I think Johnny would be more like “LFG!”

Sure you can. But I’m not talking about you or me or any RL trans folks… I’m talking about Johnny Silverhand. A character I’ve spent a few hundred hours with over 5-6 complete plays through the game.

And Johnny kind of is a trans lesbian in a sense… I wouldn’t use that label because it’s a fictional story that could not happen IRL… but Johnny is a guy, a straight cis guy, but he’s also kind of trans because he’s in a woman’s body and he intends to take it over (I’m sorry — if he wants it he’ll “fucking take it” in his words) and he’s quite happy (for V) to be with Judy. So is Johnny a trans lesbian? Maybe. But I never thought of labeling him. Especially since you as the player have the option of playing a male V… or a trans V, for that matter.
