A decade ago, Bradley Krae left the United States to teach English in Shenzhen, China. He spends less money and says the has found his own version of the American Dream there.
Apartment above me flooded 3x and I’ve woken up to soggy carpets multiple times now. The trash room backs up weekly which I think is why we’ve started seeing roaches around the place. 1 bed 1 den @ $2500/month, not including utilities which pushes us up to ~$3100/month. Can’t find a cheaper place that isn’t in worse conditions.
i told my partner about 8 years ago that i wanted to move to China and she laughed at me… i read this to her and now she’s regretting we didn’t move.
we’re trying to find a 3 bedroom house to rent so her parents can come stay long-term with us for under $6000/mo and it’s next to impossible.
Jesus Christ!!! 6000 for a 4 bedroom home?!?!! That’s like 3 mortgages that’s a fucking mansion where I live
yeah… its insane here. we have an 800 sqft 2 bedroom house for $4100 a month right now and everyone tells us how lucky we are
That’s a house!?!?? I pay 1200 for a 2bedroon apartment l I’ve never seen a house with less than a 1000 square feet that’s not more than 70 years old

yeah this house was built in the 1940s… and its made of cinderblocks so we get mold all over the walls every time it rains, but hey we’re lucky :D
