it’s the desperate attempt of Israel to scare its neighbors into subedience. it knows its time is running out, because its strongest ally, the US, is leaving it. Israel has always been a military outpost of the US in the middle east to scare the oil-producing countries in the arab world towards selling its huge oil reserves to the US for cheap.

and renewable energy makes oil unnecessary - economically disadvantageous even! so there’s no reason why the US would continue to give massive arms to Israel, and Israel knows this because they’re not stupid. So they’re like a dying star, at the end of its lifetime, before it burns out it lashes out in a rampaging way to its neighbors.

It’s still unfathomable to me how Saudi Arabia can see the greater Israel map includes a portion of their country and they’re STILL trying to work with them; like, Iran produces their own weapons, you don’t, if Israel goes to war with you America isn’t going to supply you with more weapons, and you can’t maintain that fight for long: Iran can punch back, you can’t; you couldn’t even beat Yemen and they’re your neighbors.

It’s wild to me how so many American allies keep thinking ‘it’ll never be me’, while watching it happen to their neighbors; Europe sticking (mostly) together helps keep them safe from America, Saudi Arabia has watched horrors happen to their neighbors and they seriously think they’re different.

it’s easier to believe you’ll be the comprador who escapes to the west with fat stacks of cash like so many others than it is to believe you’ll be the comprador who gets denied entry and dies like so many others

Revolutionary movements are always moralized in a vacuum. The horrors and violence inflicted upon them is routine and normal while their resistance to that violence is considered a moral failing of the movement.
